A New Vision For Costa Rica Photography Workshops

Earlier this year, I spent four months in the incredible natural beauty of Costa Rica, and thought deeply about the future of my Costa Rica photography workshops.  Costa Rica gave me time to slow down and reconnect with the country in a deeper way than ever before.  It was a season of challenge and growth, and through that experience, I began to see Costa Rica, and my workshops, through a completely different lens.

This season was filled with photo tours in Costa Rica, discovering incredible new locations, returning to favorite places, and a few big ideas.  Some locations surprised me in the best possible ways.  Others have changed enough over the years that they made me rethink their roles in future itineraries.  There were moments that reminded me why I fell in love with Costa Rica in the first place, and others that pushed me to step back and reconsider the kind of experience I truly want to create for nature photographers visiting this extraordinary country. 

I was also reminded just how quickly my Costa Rica photography tours fly by.  We have captured incredible waterfalls, rainforests, rivers, beaches, wildlife, and sunsets, but there has always still been so much more to experience.  I realized that when traveling internationally, clients deserve more time enjoying the destination.

Because Costa Rica is one of the most breathtaking and biodiverse places on the planet, I don’t want nature and landscape photographers to simply visit Costa Rica and check it off their list.  I want them to fully experience it, to spend more time exploring each location, connect more deeply with the landscapes, wildlife, and culture, and return home feeling like they truly experienced all of what Costa Rica has to offer, not just a small portion of it.

That vision ultimately led to two completely reimagined photography workshops in Costa Rica.  Wild Costa Rica and Iconic Costa Rica.  Both new adventures have been expanded to 9-day experiences, giving photographers additional days to embrace the breathtaking scenery, natural beauty, and extraordinary diversity of Costa Rica in a deeper and more meaningful way.
