ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrive in Portland / Munra Falls / Wahclella Falls / Lost Lake / Cascade Locks
We set out by private transfer to the world-famous Columbia River Gorge - the first of the Seven Wonders of Oregon we explore - and photograph incredible Munra Falls and Wahclella Falls and the beautiful stream that flows along the trail.  Afterwards, we'll head to our award-winning hotel, check in, and have a great dinner before heading to Lost Lake and capture the sunset with spectacular Mt. Hood reflecting in the glossy lake.  Mt. Hood is the second of the Seven Wonders of Oregon that we photograph and this magnificent landscape will leave a lasting impression.  After shooting, we'll return to our hotel.

Day 2 - Starvation Creek / White River Falls / Cascade Locks
After breakfast we set out for little-known and often overlooked Starvation Creek and spend a few hours exploring and shooting the beautiful 190-foot waterfall and stream below it.  After shooting, we will have lunch and edit images throughout the afternoon.  After another delicious dinner, we will travel to White River Falls, an outstanding double-tiered waterfall that drops into a rugged basalt gorge near an abandoned hydroelectric power station that once energized and irrigated the region.  We'll shoot the falls and capture the incredible sunset, then return to our hotel.

Day 3 - Ecola State Park / Hug Point / Cannon Beach / Seaside
After breakfast and editing images, we travel by private transfer to Seaside where we'll check into our next hotel and have lunch.  Afterwards we head to Ecola State Park and capture the gorgeous vista above the ocean before traveling to Hug Point.  Once there, we'll photograph the stunning seascapes before heading to spectacular Haystack Rock for sunset.  After shooting, we'll have a fantastic late dinner and return to our hotel.

Day 4 - Butte Creek Falls / Salem
After breakfast, we travel by private transfer to Salem, check into our next incredible hotel, have lunch, then continue to sensational Butte Creek Falls.  This easy location features two unique cascades in a lush old-growth forest, and we'll shoot the falls all afternoon, then return to our hotel and have another fantastic dinner.

Day 5 - Silver Falls State Park / Salem
After breakfast we travel by private transfer to Silver Falls State Park which is known as the "crown jewel" of the Oregon state parks system.  We will photograph Upper North Falls and North Falls, then take a break for lunch in Silverton.  After lunch, we will return to the park and photograph South Falls and Lower South Falls.  Both sides of the park feature old growth forests, rustic bridges, and streams that we will capture.  After shooting, we will return to our hotel in Salem and enjoy our final dinner together.

Day 6 - Depart Portland
After breakfast, we'll travel by private transfer to Portland International Airport (PDX), where you'll catch your flight home.

TESTIMONIAL

"I chose to attend Scott’s June 2024 Palouse Eastern Washington photo tour based on the photo locations, price point, and the fact that I did not need to rent a car.  The trip also included all my meals and hotel room, both of which were great.  Scott’s trips are small which allowed me to take my time and focus on photography instead of keeping up with a large group.  As a result, I photographed waterfalls for the first time, did some night photography, and photographed the Palouse when there were no crowds.  Scott made sure all the locations were accessible and did not require sherpa hiking ability.  I highly recommend Scott’s trips and plan to sign up for more in the future." ~ Jackie H. | California
