TESTIMONIAL

Scott took us to locations that were fantastic and unique.  I never realized that Oregon could be considered the waterfall capital of the United States!  I believe it now.  Scott did a great job organizing the entire trip.  He went out of his way to provide us with multiple opportunities to shoot at a variety of locations.  We stayed at good hotels and ate at restaurants serving a variety of delicious meals which was a welcome sight after working hard all day taking pictures.  Scott freely shared his work flow processes and knowledge but did it in a way as to not overwhelm us with overly technical language.  We also appreciated the opportunities we had to do some post processing work together and learn that side of the business.  Scott's personality also allowed for a stress-free vacation experience. The photo adventure was well worth the cost."  ~ Scott & Mark R. | Arizona

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrive in Portland / Wahclella Falls / Lost Lake / Cascade Locks
After arriving in Portland, we begin our journey into the spectacular Columbia River Gorge - the first of the legendary Seven Wonders of Oregon we will explore on this unforgettable adventure.  Surrounded by lush forest, moss-covered cliffs, and rushing water, we will photograph beautiful Munra Falls, Wahclella Falls, and the enchanting stream flowing through the canyon trail.  Afterwards, we will travel to our award-winning hotel overlooking the Columbia River, settle in, and enjoy a wonderful dinner before heading to breathtaking Lost Lake for sunset.  With majestic Mount Hood reflecting in the calm waters beneath colorful evening light, this iconic scene offers an unforgettable introduction to the beauty of Oregon.  After photographing sunset, we will return to our hotel for the evening.

Day 2 - Starvation Creek / White River Falls / Cascade Locks
After breakfast, we will travel to the colorful and often-overlooked Starvation Creek, where vibrant foliage, flowing water, moss-covered rocks, and a beautiful 190-foot waterfall create incredible opportunities for intimate landscape photography.  We will spend the morning exploring and photographing the falls and surrounding scenery before enjoying lunch and afternoon editing sessions.  Following another exceptional dinner, we will travel to magnificent White River Falls, a powerful double-tiered waterfall plunging into a rugged basalt canyon beside the remains of a historic hydroelectric power station.  As sunset light fills the gorge and illuminates the surrounding cliffs and rushing water, we will photograph one of the most dramatic waterfall locations in Oregon before returning to our hotel.

Day 3 - Ecola State Park / Hug Point / Cannon Beach / Seaside
After breakfast and editing sessions, we will travel by private transfer to the Oregon Coast — the third of the Seven Wonders of Oregon featured on this workshop.  Upon arriving in Seaside and checking into our next beautiful hotel, we will enjoy lunch before continuing to Ecola State Park where breathtaking coastal vistas overlook rugged cliffs, forests, beaches, and the Pacific Ocean.  Later in the afternoon, we will photograph the incredible shoreline scenery at Hug Point before traveling to Cannon Beach for sunset at iconic Haystack Rock.  Surrounded by sea stacks, crashing waves, colorful skies, and the dramatic atmosphere of the Oregon Coast, this unforgettable evening offers some of the most spectacular coastal photography in the Pacific Northwest.  After shooting sunset, we will enjoy another wonderful dinner before returning to our hotel.

Day 4 - Butte Creek Falls / Salem
After breakfast, we will travel to Salem, check into our next outstanding hotel, and enjoy lunch before heading to beautiful Butte Creek Falls.  Surrounded by lush old-growth forest, moss-covered trees, and vibrant greenery, this peaceful location features two stunning cascades hidden deep within the forest.  We will spend the afternoon photographing the waterfalls, streams, forest details, and beautiful atmosphere that make this region so special before returning to our hotel and enjoying another exceptional dinner together.

Day 5 - Silver Falls State Park / Salem
Oregon State Park system and one of the most spectacular waterfall destinations in the Pacific Northwest.  Throughout the day, we will photograph several breathtaking waterfalls including Middle North Falls, Upper North Falls, North Falls, South Falls, and Lower South Falls.  Along the trails, we will also photograph towering old-growth forests, rustic bridges, fern-covered canyon walls, rushing streams, and vibrant Pacific Northwest scenery surrounding the waterfalls.  The incredible variety of landscapes throughout Silver Falls makes it one of the most rewarding and unforgettable photography locations in Oregon.  After an amazing final day of photography, we will return to Salem and enjoy our final dinner together.

Day 6 - Depart Portland
After breakfast, we will travel by private transfer to Portland International Airport (PDX), where you will catch your flight home after an unforgettable journey through the waterfalls, forests, mountains, rivers, and rugged coastline of Oregon.
